The destruction will go far deeper than simply rising costs, reduced benefits, and rationing--in fact, it already has.
What, in essence, is "health care," if not the purposeful application of human thought to the amelioration of bodily affliction? But one cannot force a mind; one cannot mandate human thought. "Government run health care" does not and cannot permit a physician's independent thought. Force applied at any point necessarily transmits throughout the system. Your doctor becomes a mere mindless bureaucrat, destroying the essence of the enterprise, and making "health care" decidedly dangerous to your health.
The only "free market solution" is a totally free market--that is, laissez-faire capitalism.
